The Maltaaba Community Bank Ltd with Head Office at Bongo in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region invites applications from suitably qualified, dynamic and results oriented individual to fill the vacant position of INTERNAL AUDITOR
ROLE SUMMARY
The successful candidate shall maintain a high level of integrity and provide a service of value to the Board and Management, ensuring that the internal audit function is closely aligned with the organization’s strategies, objectives, risks and industry best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for examining and evaluating the effectiveness and adequacy of the internal control systems.
- Responsible for determining the internal audit scope and developing annual plans.
- Perform reviews on established systems for ensuring codes of conduct, compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, and the implementation of policies and procedures.
- Review and examination of financial reports and accounting records for accuracy and reliability.
- Responsible for preparing and presenting reports that reflects audit results and document processes.
- Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement.
- Liaise with External Auditors and ensure that appropriate action is taken on reported audit findings.
- Review, assess and recommend changes in accounting systems and controls in the Bank.
- Responsible for any other task assigned by the Board.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Second degree and/or full professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Banking or related discipline with minimum of five (5) years working experience in financial institution, three (3) years of which should be as internal auditor.
- First degree and/or part professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Banking or related discipline with minimum of ten (10) years working experience in financial institution, five (5) years of which should be in internal auditing.
- Experience in banking systems with considerable knowledge in T24 banking application
- Must possess considerable knowledge in financial regulations (Companies Act, Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Act, Deposit Protection Act, AML Act etc).
- Good IT skills and literate in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc.
- Strong professional ethics, excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure
